I'm back...sorry everyone, I've been having posting issues.
So, a couple of months ago; I wrote about this Midcentury house that was for sale. I liked the remodel so much, I decided to contact the remodeling company just to see if they would give me a story. I was pleasantly surprised, by how obliging they were. The company is called Area16, and it is owned by Mark and Jenny Johnson. As it turns out Area16 is a very industrious company with several fascinating projects. First, is their partnership with Zamore Homes in the construction of the Kit Homes. These modular homes have been featured in several publications, due to their innovative design. They are beautiful contemporary homes that easily fit into the smallest of lots, and are affordable for many more buyers. When I arrived at the Area16 office, Jenny gave me a tour of two of the Kit Homes that are still under construction. They have great light and architectural details. (BTW, these homes are for sale; for anyone who must have one now!)

Next, we walked directly next door to their main office. I fell in love with this renovated bungalow, as soon as I saw the front door! Although, it is not very big, the bungalow houses three work spaces in the living area, and a large office in an adjacent room. Also, I was fascinated with this green chair, so I had include it.

Another project Area16 is involved with is a company called Hometta. It is a very exciting concept that essentially provides homeowners the ability to build modern and affordable homes. One of its features will be blueprints from acclaimed architects, available for homeowners to buy. Of course, that alone cuts down on the cost of building a home. Hometta will have a more extensive website in about a month, so check back.
After stomping around the main offices, Jenny invited me to their personal home. Of course, how could I say no!

As we are walking up the tree-lined walkway, I was secretly hoping to go to the door with brightly colored mirror. It looked like a piece of candy, drawing me in. Yes! Thats it! I know I'm not the only one who loves looking peeking in to other peoples' homes, and this home did not disappoint. The Johnson's do a great job of updating older homes without losing the original feel.

The living room is one of the first things you see as you walk in the door. The rich sectional really makes the space. Overall the house has white walls and neutral flooring. But there are wonderful pops of color, from the furnishings and modern art.

Love the Kelly Wearstler wallpaper, combined with the vintage dinette set. These walls are definitely not neutral.

The upstairs has bright, sun-filled bedrooms. The master and two boys rooms are decorated in a minimal style, with just a few outstanding accessories. Great art is displayed throughout the second floor, and I especially love the funky wingback chair. It looks like its upholstered in grass!

This is a lucky little doll! Okay, maybe she's no Barbie; but did Barbie ever have a pad like this? I think not. This little contemporary treat even has a killer wardrobe. Where was this when I was a kid?

This is a very funny statement to make, since I can be so shy. Luckily, when I get to meet a fellow blogger; I can walk in and feel like we are old friends! This week I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl, of Stash Studios. We have been communicating via our blogs and email, and decided to have lunch. I'm glad to say that Cheryl and I hit it off immediately, and had a great time. We talked about blogging, parenting, and our mutual love of "good junk".
Cheryl is a woman of many talents, including being an amazing photographer. I gathered a few a her photos that I love, taken while at one of my favorite places...Round Top! Check out more photos on her Flickr site.

Judging from the comments on my last post about my true love for Nate Berkus, I am not the only one in love. By coincidence, I found this amazing painting from Fifi Flowers; of Nate's adorable pooches. So cute! Nate if you see this, I want to dedicate this little token to you; from me and many other bloggers.

Love this house! The color palette is so yummy. My two favorite parts are the marble fireplace surround, and the beautiful rug in the dining room. This Bel Air home was designed by M. Design. Check out more photos at Girl Meets Glamour.

Happy Sunday! I'm sitting quietly web-surfing while my boys take an afternoon nap. I stumbled upon a great artist today, named Betsy Walton. Just thought I would share some of her work. Some of these paintings can also be found at her Etsy store here.

Besides dealing with flooring when on a design job, I used to sell flooring exclusively. After spending so much time around tile, carpet, wood planks...etc. I'm a bit of a flooring addict. I really feel it can make or break a room, and I can be rather snobby about it. Well, I think I may have found my favorite tile ever,(or at least for now). The object of my affection is from Popham Design. They are handmade Moroccan cement tiles. The patterns and colors are a real visual treat. In the U.S. you can purchase these tiles through Ann Sacks or Walker Zanger.
How could anyone not love these amazing and free-spirited looks? I also love that this tile has its own video! First time I have ever seen that. Check it out, you'll fall in love with it...Maybe I'm just some sort of flooring nerd, I don't know.

When I was a kid, wearing hats was off-limits in school. But, I have always been such a hat lover; that I wore them anyway. One of the few things I would get in trouble for was this heinous offense! For these hats from i.d. design, I would be willing to serve detention all over again.

Erika of Urban Grace, posted this stairway the other day; and I must say that my jaw dropped! Wow, these are so gorgeous. I would love to look at this great pattern while walking up and down. After looking at this I was inspired to post more unique and beautiful staircases.

I would like to point out that the picture above is a great example of how to display photos along the stairway wall. A design pet peeve of mine is the mismatched frames hung diagonally on the wall. You know what I'm talking about. When frames are placed to match the slope of the stairs. I always find that disturbing when I walk in a house and see that. I know its a trivial matter, but it bugs me.

Hey everyone. I'm keeping my post simple. I've been sick since Friday, and still haven't quite kicked it. As I sat down to write something today, I realized I'm too tired to be inspired.
