I don't have any real commentary for these photos, I just am fascinated with them, and thought I would share. These photos are from a photographer named Angus Mcritchie, (love the name). There are many more wonderful photos on his site, but this was all I cold fit on this post. I would like to have many more photos at a time, but I haven't figured out how to do that. I'll admit I am not the most tech savvy girl in the world. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Meanwhile, enjoy these inspirational photos.

I've had chairs on the brain. Along the way I stumbled upon some fabulous pieces that I love.

I think my favorite are the last two pieces. They are from a "new to me" shop called Dana John. The shape and fabric of the two pieces are so swank. I couldn't resist showcasing a few more fabulous finds from this shop.

Well, this is a surprise gone wrong. Last week my sister called me to let me know she was giving me a couple of vintage chairs. She just moved to a smaller house and didn't have room for them. I was SO excited, because I've been lusting over these chairs for about 10yrs. I was making plans for great new upholstery, to update them. (Remember the leopard print craze?)
Here's where it goes wrong. My husband went to pick up the chairs, and some other furniture, in a large trailer. When my husband got home his first words were, "We lost a chair on the highway, it broke-up all over the place." WHAT!!!! I couldn't believe it. I waited so many years to have these chairs! What a tragedy. Well, I tried to deal with it, and thought "I can still use just one chair". So today, I decide to take some pictures of the chair to post. I didn't think I had enough light so I brought my beloved Pablo "Elise" lamp over. As I am walking over to the chair, I accidentally drop the base of the lamp on my porcelain tile. I was horrified! Not many things survive a fall on porcelain tile. Of course, I plugged it in and it will not turn on. This chair must be jinxed! I am hoping that a makeover will make it better. Needless to say, I am feeling quite flustered right now.
Here are some very fun and colorful pillows from CushLab. Every pillow is handmade from felt and wool.
This is one of my personal favorite color combinations, black and turquoise. I have some vintage chairs that need pillows are just right. These might do the trick.
This is a funny story, I thought I would share. Earlier this week my son, Liam and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. Along the way, he started picking up sticks,(mostly so he could poke me with them). As we kept walking, I spotted part of a hubcap on the side of the road. Since it is part of a car wheel, and very shiny, I knew Liam would love it. When I gave it to him, you would have thought I gave him the most fantastic toy ever made! He was so excited. Anyway, he walked down the sidewalk picking up more sticks and banging them on the hubcap. When we returned home, I didn't want to make him throw away his treasures, so I suggested we display them in his room.
I found a vintage cannister, that I never use because the lid is missing the handle. Luckily, the hole was just right for our sticks. I placed the sticks on a shelf in Liam's room and then hung the hubcap behind it. (Yes, the wooden figure is from Ikea).
Now, Liam points out his "mirror wheel" to me all the time. I love this idea, because he feels like he has a part in decorating his room, and I can remember a fun afternoon we shared together. Please excuse my painting, I painted it for a class I took in the fall. I copied some talented artist's good painting, and came up with my not-so-good version. Although, Liam likes it because he says it looks like "moons and stars."
I just found out about these stamps. I am so excited, I may even start mailing things again! I saw this article on Aesthetic Outburst. I am instantly addicted to this blog.
Too bad Christmas is over. I would love to add these items to my gift list. I guess there is always Valentine's day, or Mother's day, (especially, since I just had another sleepless night with my son crying half the night. Three years old, and the kid still won't sleep through the night!) I need shopping therapy, Ochre has a New York shop. I've been a long time admirer of Ochre, (previous post), but was not aware the had a store here in the States. They have a knack for finding beautiful luxurious items. Their website is worth looking at just to see their wonderful photos.Buscar No Google
